University Cultural Centre,
Ho Bee Auditorium
/ Overview
Youth Beats: Soundscapes of Exchange is an immersive youth camp under the NUS International Youth Chinese Orchestra Summit (IYCOS), bringing together young musicians from diverse backgrounds to explore music as a platform for cultural exchange.
Participants will attend inspiring masterclasses led by esteemed NUS professors, distinguished NUS alumni, and renowned artist Guo Yazhi.
Through collaborative music-making, participants will critically examine the role of music in cultural and social contexts, engage with global traditions, and create original intercultural works through creative experimentation. The programme also equips participants with critical listening and basic recording skills to support performance, documentation, and reflection.
Youth Beats empowers young musicians to reflect on their roles in fostering intercultural dialogue—within ensembles and beyond—shaping them into thoughtful artists and cultural ambassadors.
