ABOUT THE SUMMIT

IYCOS 2026 marks the first-ever summit of its kind hosted by NUS, bringing together young musicians from around the world for a unique blend of learning, collaboration, and performance. The summit begins with an immersive youth camp, followed by three days of intensive summit activities, offering participants the opportunity to explore music, culture, and leadership in a global context.
This summit is designed around four key goals:
Develop Creativity and Innovation Through Music
Explore new sounds and generate fresh ideas through cross-genre projects, modern interpretations of Chinese orchestral music, and hands-on sessions like improvisation and composition.
Build Resilience Through Performance and Practice
Strengthen teamwork, problem-solving, and concentration through practical exercises that sharpen group dynamics, composure under pressure, and steady practice habits.
Strengthen Cultural Intelligence
Discover the multicultural roots of Chinese orchestral music and compare its practices with Southeast Asian and Western traditions, fostering a deeper understanding of global music cultures.
Nurture Moral Reasoning and Artistic Values
Engage in dialogues on ethics in arts leadership, balancing cultural preservation with reinvention, promoting inclusivity, representation, and respectful cultural exchange.
IYCOS 2026 is more than a summit – it’s a platform for young musicians to innovate, connect, and reflect, shaping the next generation of artists and cultural ambassadors.
